Why should I automate chocolate decoration?
Manual decoration takes time, requires skilled staff, and limits your output. OPUS helps automate these repetitive tasks, giving you more speed, consistency, and flexibility, while increasing your margins with personalised and premium products.
How much production do I need to make OPUS profitable?
Most customers see a return on investment within 1-3 years. Based on our data, even a few dozen personalised or decorated products per day can make OPUS a profitable addition to your workflow.
Where does most time or cost waste occur in chocolate decoration?
Manual piping and skilled hand-finishing are often the biggest time sinks and they depend on team members with specific experience. OPUS removes that bottleneck by automating precise decoration, lettering, and designs.
How much space does OPUS take up in my kitchen or lab?
OPUS is one of the most compact professional chocolate shaping tools on the market. It fits comfortably on a workbench or table, and doesn’t require any additional equipment or cooling systems.
Does OPUS have integrated tempering and cooling?
Yes and they’re both built right in. OPUS includes a patented automatic tempering system inside the printhead, with three separate temperature zones to maintain perfect chocolate temper curves throughout the shaping process. In addition, OPUS features a built-in cooling system similar to a mini cooling tunnel, allowing your chocolate creations to set quickly, without needing extra cooling equipment on your workbench.
What do I need to get started with OPUS?
Nothing extra! OPUS is a plug & play system. Just connect it to power, load your chocolate callets, and start shaping. The machine handles tempering and cooling internally, so no external devices or chocolate expertise are required. We also offer a free onboarding session with a 3D Food Printing Expert to make sure you’re confident from the start.
Can OPUS print other ingredients besides chocolate?
Yes, for experimental use. OPUS allows full control over temperature zones and cooling, making it suitable for R&D with other ingredients. We recommend this use for experienced users or food R&D teams exploring new textures and applications. Note: Manual feeding is required, and capacity is limited to 100g. Results may vary depending on the material.
Can I use my own chocolate with OPUS?
Absolutely. OPUS works especially well with high-quality couverture chocolate thanks to its automatic tempering system. Compound chocolate is also supported. For optimal performance with the automatic feeding system, we recommend using chocolate callets up to 15 mm in size. Total cartridge capacity is up to 700g.
